Posted on: November 24, 2018 | Spaces Toronto December 4, 2018

Toronto winters can be brutal. Between the wind and lake effect snow, Toronto winters can seem endless. This year more than ever, Toronto organizations are in need of new and gently-used warm coats and other winter items. This winter, make a difference in someone’s life by donating items to one of these organizations and charities throughout Toronto.

5 Organizations to Donate Winter Coats this Year

One Warm Coat

Every year, One Warm Coat collects winter coats to be delivered to those in need. In the 2017 and 2018 season, this organization was able to donate over 668,000 winter coats to those in need across the U.S. and in 7 other countries. One Warm Coat has multiple coat drives all throughout the Toronto area.

Organizer Interiors

Since 2014 after an extremely difficult winter, Organized Interiors has been collecting new or gently used coats to be distributed to those in need. This organization is also seeking donations of hats, scarves, gloves, mittens, hoodies and sweaters.

GLOW has a mission this year to help “Keep Toronto Warm” through donations of coats and other winter items. This year, consider donating gently-used coats, jackets, snow pants, snowsuits and other accessories to GLOW. The organization is also seeking volunteers to host coat drives in their communities.

Covenant House

The Covenant House is seeking donations of new and gently used winter coats and items to be given to homeless youths. But the Covenant House, isn’t just looking for winter coats, they’re also seeking items that can be used throughout the year. If you’re unable to donate a warm winter coat, consider donating gift cards, non-perishable food, TTC tokens and hygiene products.

Oasis Clothing Bank

Oasis Clothing Bank is accepting donations of gently used clothing, shoes and boots for both men and women. If you have other household items you want to donate, check the list online to see what the organization is accepting. Oasis Clothing Bank has donation bins all over Toronto. If you have more than three bags of donations, Oasis Clothing Bank will even offer a free home pickup.
