Posted on: December 17, 2018 |
Out of all of the rooms in the home, the kitchen can take the most heat. From cooking family meals in this space every day, to being the scene of late-night snacks, this room can see a lot of action. Over time, this can lead to the room being disorganized and cluttered. If you’ve had it with the mess and are looking to cut the kitchen clutter, try out these 5 steps for an organized kitchen!
5 Kitchen Organization Hacks
- # 1: Empty out your kitchen-
In order to get an idea of what items you have, empty out your pantry and all of your drawers and cupboards. Once you have all of your items in front of you, group like items together. For example, group all of your baking dishes together in their own category and all of your glassware in another category.
- #2: Remove items you no longer use-
Once all of the items are in front of you, sort through the piles to find any broken, duplicate or unneeded items. When sorting through your items, be brutal with the ones you choose to get rid of. Items that are still in good condition can be donated or given to friends or family members.
- # 3: Get a clean start-
Once you have less items in your kitchen, the space will be much easier to clean. Wipe down the shelves in your pantry and all of your drawers and cupboards. Thoroughly cleaning your kitchen will help you get a fresh start.
- # 4: Be creative with space-
Look for storage options outside of just cupboard or drawer space. If your mug cupboard is packed, consider using hooks to hang them under the cupboard. Or, if you notice you have way too many pots and pans, use a pot rack to keep your pots and pans from crowding your drawers.
- # 5: Organize monthly-
Even after taking the time to complete the project, you may notice that as time goes on, your kitchen is getting cluttered again. Prevent this from happening by taking thirty minutes to an hour to organize every month.
